Moonless Night
Night
That moonless night
He's on his way back from work
A good day he earned extra bucks
Smiling at his green pants he suddenly hears
Familiar name with shouting and beating
Through the trail he hides behind
On the ground lies his best friend with limbs tied
He can't see what the others are doing but he knows from the whips and jeans down scattered around
They are shouting like they own the world
In shock he retreats with silent cry
Those tickets to dinner fly across the wind
With instinct he leaps forward
And the moment he catches the hope for life, he knows he also steps in the cage
They are eagerly waiting for someone to show the world they possess
As if they aren't already mad enough
All comes to the human body that no longer captures soul left
With a look at his pants they know what to do to show off the beautiful world they have
They know what to do to make things hard again
That moonless night he spent it all in confusion
He forgets because he don't want to remember
All those yelling and pushing
All those applause and humiliation
But all need to be taken and choked or drilled is by his friend
In moonless night he can't see
Fear, unknown, he only tastes salt and tears
Floor, skins, he never knows how red a scene he makes
And who takes his pain even further was the best friend he ever loved
The next day he tries to end it all in his drinks
With nothing ever happened
With no sins ever recorded
Drink after drinks
He almost puts these all behind him and moves forward
Then he sees that figure
That figure he crushes under his body all night along
Only he knows those bruises aren't the most painful with every strike he gives
Before words come out of the mouth they are already in desperate tears
The reason isn't needed, nor the consolation
From his heart God knows he's unworthy to bring hope
There's no new road, nor there'll be an end
Days pass as their distance drifts apart
He's climbing up towards the top of the society, while his friend only drowns deeper and deeper to the sea of mourning of not having any emotions left
The last time they talk he only sits in silence
Without a word he listens to his friend talking in plain tone
About how the moon becomes dark and how people only grow blind
He don't understand a word
Or more so, out of cowardliness he don't want to understand the pain beneath
How this wonderful relationship suddenly falls apart
When one wears nothing to show the most earnest
He steps back and call it a scary tale nobody would believe
Escaping to the reality he never was born in
Not looking back because he's running for his own glory
For that glory where it doesn't need those extra emotions that make him stay or wander
To wait for someone who needs him to bring light
It's all you here after they finally speak they've had enough in defeat
No one is on your side
The walls only opens for a time and the stars don't shine no more
Run, child, run
Run to the shore where all burdens are washed away
Run to the sun where all darkness may dispel to unveil the ray
Kneel to pray, just a little more
So you will see now the moon shall cry
